At this year's Sea Otter Classic, Topeak debuted a new range of higher-end gear intended for more discerning users such as their own Topeak-Ergon pro mountain bike team. More than 30 items are included in the collection, from pumps to tools to bags.
Pumps and inflators are perhaps the most interesting segment, with items such as the new Mega Morph, which takes the company's unique Morph mini-pump design and scales it up for travel use.
The single foot and top-mounted gauge both fold up tightly against the alloy barrel for a more compact profile and even the rubber-coated handle is truncated to better fit inside the included carrying case.
There's still a long flexible hose, though, complete with Topeak's locking and self-adjusting SmartHead. Total weight is just 1.1kg (2.42lb), making it a good fit for travel cases.
For portable use, there's the new RaceRocket MasterBlaster, whose fetching single-action design looks to be a close cousin of pumps from Lezyne – hardly a bad thing, at least in terms of functionality.
Inside the compact 18cm-long (7.1in) polished alloy body is an extendable hose and a thread-on head that works with both Presta and Schrader valves. Topeak will offer the RaceRocket MasterBlaster…
Offering a fresh approach to workstands, with the Prepstand Max your bike ‘balances’ on top of the stand, meaning you have clear 360-degree access at all times.
With the bike supported in a central position on top of the stand, Topeak says it's easy to work on all parts of the bike.
With this stand, the frustration of catching your cranks on the stand as you turn them should be a thing of the past
There is no assembly required with this stand and it comes ready to use in its carry case.
With a low, adjustable working height of 80 to 108cm, it may not suit taller mechanics, but the maximum load capacity is a respectable 25kg – enough for some electric mountain bikes.
The bike sits on the jaws, and a range of frame shapes and diameters were held comfortably, especially when the spring-loaded hook was positioned across the down tube.
The folded stand measures 95cm but, when open, the tripod legs offer a base diameter of 102cm. The flat pads on the bottom of the legs give it stability even on uneven ground.

The Topeak Racerocket mini pump is effective for such a small inflator and there’s plenty of hand hold space. The Smarthead tends to come loose when pumping though and can push down on presta valve cores, losing air.
Topeak has a large range of mini pumps, to match its extensive track pump collection. Even within the Racerocket pumps there are five models, all with the same basic design features. The Racerocket is the most affordable model, but even this has a high specification and is available in six anodised colours.
The Racerocket has an integral 13cm long hose that pulls out from under a cap in the pump’s handle. The design has a Schrader adapter built in, but unscrew the head to loosen it and a small extender section allows you to screw it onto a Presta valve.
The barrel of the pump has a rubber grip section. Its end cap can be pulled off and serves as a Presta valve core remover.
The two halves of the pump are held together by a rubber grommet that slides into the bottom of the handle. It’s a compact pump, just 18cm long and weighing…
