The founders of North East protein snack brand Oatein are planning to launch their first vegan product, with help from a crowdfunding campaign.
Andy Dixon and John Paul Gardner recently emerged victorious from the Dragons’ Den with a £50,000 investment from entrepreneur Peter Jones - as well as advice from the rest of the Dragons that “the world is going vegan”.
Taking on board the panel’s comments, the Whitley Bay duo are now developing a new snack range, Oatein Millionaire Crunch, which will include vegan options.
A new take on the classic millionaire shortcake, the Oatein Millionaire Crunch combines layers of chocolate and caramel on a bed of crunchy protein oats.
The range will be available in four flavours including vegan variants Salted Caramel and Chocolate Orange, alongside Hazelnut Caramel and Banoffee Caramel. The full range will also be gluten free as well as containing 15g of protein, a high source of fibre, low in sugar and palm oil free.
