The highly acclaimed brand, whose main claim to fame has been its digital audio players, has just revealed a slew of products for its 2023 timeline. There are no new traditional players announced here, but what you will find is more than intriguing.
Their biggest reveal here has to be the ACRO CA1000T, a follow-up to last year’s CA1000. These audio players/dedicated DAC/amps were a first for A&K, and now they look to continue this series further. Just like with the SP2000T, the CA1000T will feature a dual-tube applied Triple Amp System, with 4-levels of gain that can operate the most detailed IEMs and hard-to-drive headphones using ESS Technology’s flagship ES9039MPRO Dual-DAC.
The next product A&K has announced is the HC3 dual DAC/amp dongle cable. While similar to the last dongle they made, the HC3 will now feature the ES9219MQ Dual DAC from ESS. It is a dual-shielded cable that will connect to both Type C and lightning plugs, making it accessible with iPhone or Android. With the HC3, A&K wants to bring their standard for sound resolution to any smartphone, aiming to minimize noise and increase power to your wired headphones and IEMs.
Lastly, A&K has revealed its first-ever…
Kern County, in partnership with the city and local nonprofits, conducted its annual tally of the unsheltered Wednesday morning in an effort to better understand the needs of its homeless population and secure much-needed federal funding.
“This year it went fabulously,” said Anna Laven, executive director of the Bakersfield Kern Regional Homeless Collaborative, a local nonprofit. “To get everyone out the door basically by 5:10 a.m., and I think this is probably the most number of volunteers we’ve had — at least the most we’ve had registered.”
It was the pageant that almost wasn't, but it was also the pageant that made 19-year-old Kasey Kern the first Duluth resident to compete for the title of Miss Minnesota USA in nearly 20 years.
Kern won the title of Miss Hermantown over a year ago in a pageant she said received little attention from the city. But she didn't go unnoticed.
After watching her performance, a director from a modeling school and a pageant director from the Twin Cities offered Kern a free modeling coach and a scholarship to a modeling school.
"This is an opportunity a lot of people don't get, so I figured why not do it?" Kern said.
For the past year, Kern has been spending the bulk of her time in the Twin Cities preparing for the Miss Minnesota Pageant scheduled for Nov. 27-28.
"You have to retrain yourself how to walk and talk," Kern said.
Kern said she was surprised to find out that learning how to walk would be her hardest task as a pageant participant.
"These are six-inch stiletto heels that most people wouldn't be able to walk in," Kern said. "It gives you sore feet."
A month before the Miss Hermantown…
